Four High School Seniors Die in Car Accident

Montgomery – Four Indiana high school seniors were killed in a car crash in Montgomery, Alabama while returning from a spring break trip.

The four teens, who attended Angola High School, were among the five people who died in the Saturday afternoon crash, just north of Montgomery. Three other people were also injured in the crash.

The four 18-year-old seniors were returning home to Indiana from a spring break trip to Panama City, Florida. The four young men died during a rain storm in Alabama when a Chrysler crossed the median on Interstate 65, and collided with the teens’ Ford Taurus. The Chrysler was driven by a 21-year-old man who also died in the crash. Angola High School received an outpour of support from the community and abroad. Wal-Mart donated lunches to the faculty and community ministers offered assistance to the grieving students. In front of the high school, a memorial has been created for the four teens displaying stuffed bears, flowers, candles and pictures in their honor. The Steuben County Community Foundation has created a fund called “Forever Friends 2011 Memorial Scholarship” on behalf of the families of the students who died in the crash.
