The majority of today’s vehicles are equipped with advanced safety features to ensure passenger and driver safety.
Car safety technology is developing faster than ever before. Safety features have evolved from the basic seat belt to air bags and antilock brakes. Over the past few years, a large number of vehicle safety systems and features have been developed not only to reduce car accident injuries, but to help avoid accidents in the first place.
Electronic Stability Control
Stability control technology works by giving a driver more control over the braking power to be applied on each wheel. The driver can choose to over-steer or under-steer (for example, to avoid a collision) and maintain the intended direction of the vehicle.
Adaptive Cruise Control
This technology feature allows a driver to manually adjust the vehicle’s speed, rather than pressing on the foot pedal to escalate the speed. This could help avoid many accidents that occur due to wrong foot pedal application by the driver.
Blind Spot Detection
The blind spot detection feature raises an alarm to alert a driver about any blind spot or when the driver cannot see a vehicle behind the car. This features helps a driver when changing lanes.
Lane Departure Warning
An alarm is raised when the driver deviates from the central line.
Pre-Collision Response System
This feature uses technology to automatically take the necessary steps inside a vehicle to protect the driver and passengers when it senses an impending danger. For instance, when the system detects a risk of accident, it automatically applies the brakes, closes the windows, and makes adjustments in the passenger seats as a precaution to minimize the impact of an accident.
Braking Assist Technology
This technology ensures the brakes are properly applied to stop a vehicle right away. This feature, with the use of sensors, analyzes a drivers braking pattern to recognize the need for hard braking.
Curtain and Side Airbag
Some manufacturers have equipped their cars with curtain and side airbags to help keep the occupants within the car at the time of an accident.
In spite of all the latest features, you can still get injured in a car crash. Depending on the circumstances surrounding your case, you may be entitled to compensation. Speak to a
